Emily Shoemaker: Founder and Principal Attorney
Emily Shoemaker, as a dedicated legal professional and the owner of Shoemaker Legal Solutions, is committed to ensuring equal access to justice and serving as a voice for the voiceless. Hailing originally from eastern Kentucky, Emily’s journey is marked by determination and resilience, shaped by both academic achievements and personal loss.
Professional Journey
In her twenties, Emily worked as an EMT/firefighter with several EMS providers and a volunteer fire service, a role that honed her ability to remain calm under pressure and deepened her commitment to helping others. Her personal life took a profound turn in 2016 when she endured the heartbreaking loss of her grandfather, father, and brother. This tragic period inspired her to pursue a career in law. With a steadfast belief in justice, equal access, and the transformative power of compassion, she embarked on her legal journey.
After completing law school, Emily furthered her commitment to human rights by interning at a human rights organization in Cape Town, South Africa, where she contributed to policy reform efforts on a scholarship. Upon returning to the United States, she gained valuable legal experience clerking at the Kentucky Public Defender’s Office and Legal Aid of the Bluegrass.
Emily has since obtained her license to practice law in the state of Missouri. Emily’s legal career has been marked by a global perspective and a commitment to human rights. Over the last two years, Emily has built her career and reputation at both a multi-state family law firm and the Missouri State Public Defender System. Her work continues to embody her belief in the goodness of humanity and her dedication to ensuring that justice is accessible to all.
Driven by her personal experiences and professional insights, Emily stands as a beacon of hope, striving to be the reason someone continues to believe in the goodness of humanity. Her work at Shoemaker Legal Solutions is characterized by a strong advocacy for justice, ensuring that every client receives the representation they deserve.
Emily is married to her soulmate, Andrew, and is a devoted mother to her son Ezekiel as well as a loving stepmother to Kyler. A committed Christian, she embraces her faith and family with deep passion and dedication.
